A Sketch & Technique

I combined today's sketch challenge with Monday's Technique challenge which was to use the grid technique. The diagonal grid was made using my Scor-Pal. The stamped layers are vanilla cardstock which was stamped with acrylic paint. When dry, I spritzed them with a combination of distress reinkers mixed with water and perfect pearls. The mixture resists the acrylic paint and adds beautiful shimmer and depth to the card. It is so hard to capture in a photo though. The tutorial can be found on Tim Holtz's blog.

The combinations I used were:

Walnut Stain/Perfect Bronze

Dried Marigold/Gold

Fired Brick/Copper

Weathered Wood/Pearl

The edges were sponged with Broken China and Walnut Stain. I used a stamp positioner to stamp the bird in Adirondack Pitch Black pigment ink over the bird. The main panel is on dimensional foam tape. Printed twill was layered on chocolate cardstock. I am very inky and shimmery this morning and my stamp room is a disaster now. Gotta go clean up!
