Alter it!

I am excited to not only participate in Splitcoasts color challenge today but also to use a newly released set by

Innovative Stamp Creations called Alter It!  The set of 4 also has a distressed ruler that wasn't used on this sample.

The filligree corner was stamped in Baja Breeze on Kraft CS and also on the Spellbinders curved rectangles die.  I sponged

the kraft edges with Tim Holtz Distress/Faded Jeans and the embossed die cut with distress Tea Dye ink.  The key hole

was embossed with Tim Holtz Distress/Tea Dye powder.  The card is finished w/ a vintage key and brads.  Hope you like it!

Reflections

Innovative Stamp Creations has released 2 new sets today.  I am very excited to share with you.  After working way too many hours between Thanksgiving and Christmas, it feels good to sit down and create again.  The other new set is called Alter it and is right up my alley.  Stay tuned.............  Anyway, for this card I used the new stamp called Reflections.  It was stamped on Basic Grey DP and embossed with distress Walnut Stain powder.  There is also a journaling lined stamp to fit inside the circle, perfect for hand writing a note or scrapbook journaling.  I layered it on a rust cardstock and mounted it on dimensionals.  The layer underneath is a piece of coredinations textured CS that was embossed with leafy branch cuttlebug folder and sanded.  The faux stitching was done using the easy stitches template by Paper Pizazz.  The photo corners are from a SU punch and the ribbon and felt ric rac are layered on a strip of chocolate CS.  The Sentiment is from an unknown source from my stash.  Sorry for the lack of posts over the holidays, hopefully I am back to creating, sharing and visiting other blogs.

Merry Christmas

I hope you had a wonderful holiday filled with family, friends and

the joys of the season.  Sorry for the lack of posts and sharing here.

I returned to work after being a stay at home Mom for 10 years this fall.

I forgot how much I missed retail and still look forward to going to work

each day.  The days have been long and quite a blur since Thanksgiving,

but slower days will be coming in January.  I really miss my creative

outlet and sharing here and on Splitcoast & PCP.  Please be patient, I am

itching to get back into sharing regularly and also visiting your wonderful

blogs and uploads.  I know I have missed a lot.

There was a little time this afternoon to finish up a project

that was started last week.  The size is 11" x 6" including the hanger

and the tassle.  The upside down gothic arch is made using thin chipboard

covered with parchment paper stamped with the music background and then

spritzed with distress inks for the aged look.  The edges have sequin stickles

and the top is vintage lace that was sponged with tea dye distress ink.  All images

are available from Innovative Stamp Creations.  Music/Summer Elements, Bird & Branch/

Tranquil and words are from Be Thankful sheet.  The branch was stamped in versamark

on cocoa CS and embossed in distress walnut stain powder.  I overstamped with the branch

and embossed a second time using Tea Dye powder.  The bird was inked with Adirondack

pigment ink/cranberry and then the flowers were stamped in pigment pitch black direct to

the cranberry inked rubber.  The inked bird was then stamped on sand CS and embossed 3

times with clear powder.  I added feathers for the tail and finished the ornament off with a

vintage brad and tassle.   It's back to work for another long day tomorrow, have a wonderful

day after!

ATC Recipe Box

ISCC20Treasured Recipes_SaK 002

I love these ATC die cut boxes & clear vinyl sleeves available from Innovative Stamp Creations.

The challenge at ISC is to create an ATC box with atc recipes enclosed.

My box has Teresa Collins papers that were covered with

contact paper to make it more durable and kitchen friendly.  The

magnetic closure is by Basic Grey and I added the red rhinestone to the

center.  The tags were created by stamping the words in Stazon White ink

on black shrink plastic and then die cut with Spellbinders smallest tag from

the tags trio set.  My little recipe book holds 6 vinyl sleeves bound

with the Bind it All.

When complete, the little book will contain 12 of my favorite holiday recipes.

The ATC box is roomy enough to add an additional book or 2.

Hmmmm, maybe 1 for sweets & treats and 1 for main dishes and appetizers?

ISCC20Treasured Recipes_SaK 001

I love this project for the holidays or for a shower gift using the brides favorite colors.

The snowflakes on the recipe card are from ISC's Christmas Elements Sheet, Treasured/

Fansy Designs Sheet & Recipes/About Me!  Have a wonderful Thursday!

ISC Crackle Paint Challenge

The challenge over at Innovative Stamp Creations is to use crackle paint or cracked glass on your project.

I decided on a simple gift tag using Shabby Shutters crackle paint on DP by The Paper Studio.  The image was

stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and watercolored with Brilliance Peacock rainbow pad.  The edges of the tag

were sponged with Distress Broken china and the bottom was punched with an EK Success corner punch.

Passion Inspired Art

WT190 Love Art Frame_SaK 002

My project today is a frame created with distress crackle paint/frayed burlap.  The frame was an unfinished 5 x 7" frame that

was painted black before adding the crackle paint.  I stamped the frame using Versamagic chalk Jumbo Java ink and Adirondack

Pigment in cranberry for the words.  The decorative corner was a shiny bright gold embellishment I found in my craft supplies

the other day.  It was embossed with Distress powders in Antique Linen & Walnut Stain.  I lightly sponged on some cranberry

pigment ink.  I love how it looks like it has been corroding for years.  The mat is cordinations that was run through the cuttlebug

with the textile embossing folder and then swiped with Jumbo Java Chalk ink.  All the details on the main image can be seen in

a post HERE.  I just changed out the mini pop cap ART Eye from brown to cranberry to stand out a little.  The shimmer mist can be

seen in the detail photo.  The words on the frame are available from Innovative Stamp Creations ATC Elements II sheet.

SC200 Je t'aime

I used a combination of Spellbinder Dies (photo corners for the heart and square chocolate frames) SU! scallop sq. punch for the

Basic Grey Urban Couture DP and the filligree stamp on the brown DP (Basic Grey 6 x6 Infuse) was embossed with Distress

Tattered Rose EP.  The stamp is available from Innovative Stamp Creations, photo negative sheet.

The lace is vintage and the Je t'aime ribbon is from Artful Illusions.  The hearts were die cut and embossed

in my Raspberry Wizard with naturals ivory CS and then sprayed with a pearlized distress mist using Distress Tattered Rose reinker/

Perfect Pearls Blush/Water.  They hearts are raised on dimensional foam tape.

Hey Motherway!

LSC190Hey Motherway_SaK

My friend Cindy Motherway AKA Mothermark on Splitcoast is celebrating a birthday on Sunday.

Her favorite color is blue, so I chose to combine her card w/ the Limited Supply Challenge on

Splitcoast today.  What a challenge this was for me!  We could only use one kind of ribbon and

eyelets.  On top of that, only 1 pattern of Designer Paper.  YIKES as Cindy would say!  This is for

you my friend.  Boxer DP by Basic Grey cuz I know you love it, blue was another requirement for

our challenge today.  The stamps I chose are all available from Innovative Stamp Creations  The

ornate stamping on the background, magnifying glass, key, take time sentiment

(take time to reflect on the wonders of life) and the key hole are all from a brand new sheet called

Photo Negative.   Cool stamps, HUH?  The sentimentis from the Estamp-ina sheet.

I think I actually did the challenge without screwing up the requirements

this week.  I really wanted to add more than 1 kind of ribbon or fibers, acetate to my magnifying glass,

embossing powder, die cuts.....  Well, I managed with the limitations.  Have a fabulous day Cindy!

CS: Bordering Blue, Night of Navy, Brushed Silver

DP: Basic Grey Boxer

Ink: Distress Faded Jeans, Broken China & Black Soot

Accessories:  Black Eyelets, Narrow Organdy, Foam Dimensional Tape

(eyelets were set with my Raspberry Wizard and the eyelet setting plate?

Harmony

SC198 Harmony_SaK

Today's sketch on Splitcoast is a really fun one.  I chose images from Innovative Stamp Creations Holidays sheet &

the music in the background is from Summer Elements.  The background DP is art paper from a

Somerset Studio magazine and the burgandy script is 7gypsies.  I used Spellbinders classic lg. circles

for my layers and the angel layer was cut with the  companion coluzzle.  I Stamped the angel and wing

with Distress Aged Mahagony and made a shimmer mist with Perfect pearls gold and water.  Harmony

and the angel were highlighted with a Sakura stardust gel pen.

CC188 Life a Journey

Life- journey_SaK

Today's color challenge is pink/black/white.  The purple hue on the fleur de

leis glossy paper is actually classic black ink, but I think it can tend to take on a purple tone.  I inked the

fleur de leis in pink pirouette ink and then rock n rolled it in black before stamping on glossy CS.  It was

cut out and matted on black.  The base under it is CS vellum that was run through the Wizard using

the Textile Embossing folder.  I took the pink pirouette pad and ran it over the embossed image.

The corners are by spare parts, ribbon unknown.  The fleur de lis brads are also spare parts.  The

Fleur de leis stamp and the background are from new images released by Innovative Stamp Creations

called Mini Book Series: Photo Negative

The background was stamped & embossed in  TH distress black soot EP on pink pirouette paper.

Fs88 Tranquility

FS88Tranquility_SaK

Today's Featured Stamper on Splitcoast is Anne Ryan.  Anne has a wonderful style and I couldn't wait to case her.

I chose to use her Take Time card.  The changes I made include:  5 1/2" square card instead of an A2 one.  Colors,

Stamps, added a stamped key to the ribbon and heated the ribbon.  Embossed a key hole in place of the clock face.

I also made the main image panel smaller to include a sentiment underneath it.  (close your eyes, escape into tranquility)

The images used are all from Innovative Stamp Creations  The Butterfly Lady is from the Summer Elements II sheet &

the sentiment, key, keyhole and brocade stamp on the background are from a new sheet to be released tomorrow -

10-13-08 called Mini Book Series: Photo Book Negative.

Fragmented Art

Fragmented Art_SaK 002

I started with an 8" x 8" artists canvas panel and inspiration from Claudine Hellmuth. These are flat canvases, not ones stretched on frames. It was covered with K &co. DP in a neutral vintage ephemera print. The canvas was then coated with Liquitex Gel medium and dried. Petroleum jelly was smeared on to selected areas of the canvas and then the entire piece was painted with black acrylic paint and left to dry. The paint does not adhere where the vaseline was applied. It was wiped off and then swiped with a baby wipe to remove the oilyness. The background words were stamped in Versamagic chalk ink/Niagara Mist. The fragments were created by applying alcohol inks to the backs. I believe I used Butterscotch, Lettuce and Terra Cotta. I stamped the pear collage and swirls on Designer Artists paper from a Somerset Studio magazine using Stazon Jet Black ink. The fragments were glued to the DP with a small amount of Glassy Accents and cut out. The hinges are Karen Foster, little key and keyhole are Spare Parts Brads and the large key is a vintage one from my hubby's grandfathers estate. The corners are from a local stitchery/stamp/beading store in the charm section. I love how this turned out. It is hard to capture in a photo, but it is really neat IRL. My hubby has asked if he can have it for his office at work. I will take that as the highest compliment and part w/ it graciously I guess. Oh, the awesome images? All available from Innovative Stamp Creations artsy rubber stamp sheets.

Pizza Box Notes

Today's challenge at Splitcoast is to create a mini pizza box.  These are so much fun and very easy.  To get the directions to

create a 5" box or 3 1/4" box as I did, click HERE.

TLC189Pizza Box Notes_SaK 001

I chose to make the 3 1/4" box to hold 3" note cards.  The DP is Daisy D's and I made a box out of CS first

and then another box out of Daisy D's DP to cover the outside.  This was very easy to do using my Scor-Pal.

I attached the DP to my box with Zip Dry glue which is available from Scor-Pal as well.  If you haven't tried this

glue, you have to get some!  It is the PERFECT paper glue!  The ornate border around my box edge and the

images on the note card are from a set called Christmas Trinkets that will be released by Innovative Stamp Creations

Next Monday October 13.  The glitter brads and epoxy tag are Making Memories.  I stamped the Dec. 25 using

Stazon Jet Black ink.  Have a great Monday!

FS87 Leaves Dance

FS87LeavesDance_SaK 002

Today's Featured Stamper is Loves Stampin!!!!!!!!  What a delightful gallery she has!  I chose to case her card seen HERE

I kept the same basic sketch but changed the stamps, colors and technique.  My card features embossed die cuts from

Spellbinders, I used the oak leaf from Assorted Leaves and the Rod from Charms & Rod.  The background was made by embossing

the Collage of Leaves background in clear powder on white CS.  Isn't that stamp awesome?  The set is called Collage of Leaves

and will be released by Innovative Stamp Creations on Monday October 13.  After embossing, I used alcohol inks in Red Pepper,

Butterscotch & Lettuce to cover the entire layer.  Then, it was placed between clean white computer paper and the embossing

was ironed off.  I wanted a little more definition to my image, so I thought stamping the same background in Brown Stazon

with the help of a stamp positioner would work.  Well, my initial reaction was to pitch it in the garbage.  Instead - with nothing

to lose, I grabbed the applicator tool/clean felt/blending solution.  After swiping over the entire piece, it left the stazon in some

areas and was the perfect shading I had intended.

FS87LeavesDance_SaK 001

The die cuts were sponged with color before removing from the dies and then they were spritzed with Pearlized Distress Mists.

I hope you like the results as much as I do!  Look for more sneak peeks this week, Treasure Hunt Tuesday, some blogger Challenges

and Make it Work Wednesday.  It's gonna be a busy week!

ISCC14 Christmas Elements

ISCC14Christmas Elements_SaK

Today's challenge over at Innovative Stamp Creations is a sketch.  The sketch can be seen Here on the Sketches by Tamara blog.

I paper pieced my packages after embossing them in black EP.  The bow is actually on the top of the package, but I stamped it seperately.  After layering it,

a paint brush handle was used to give the bow some dimension.

The DP's are all Basic Grey Figgy Pudding.  The packages are layered on black, the bow on Kiwi Kiss and the card is Artichoke.  The decorative

brad is Making Memories.  Images are from the Christmas Elements stamp sheet.
