Harlequin Flowers II Sneak Peek

 Weathered HarlequinFlower_SaK 002

Here's another sneak peek before this stamp sheet is released 9/2.  Last week, I stamped it in a solid color for a background and also made tole flowers with the large and small flower images.  For this card, I sponged distress inks directly on the rubber, misted with water and stamped on Vanilla CS. Ink colors include: Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Vintage Photo & Black Soot. The flower was masked and the weathered BG (Textures & Sentiments sheet) was stamped in Frayed Burlap Distress that  was stamped off on scrap paper first.  Edges were sponged with Frayed Burlap as well.  The tag is Spellbinders Tags Trio set and the word enjoy is part of the Harlequin Flowers II sheet.  The faux stitching was created with my new Tim Holtz ruler, his piercing tool and a brown marker.  If you don't have his ruler, run out or find an online source and buy it NOW.  It's a must have!

My 2nd card is for today's Technique Challenge which is Black Magic.  This is my first attempt using odorless mineral spirits & colored pencils to color in an image stamped in white on dark CS.  I need to try this again to experiment w/ images, pencils and colors.  The Weathered background was stamped in Versamagic chalk ink/wheat, the sentiment in black after embossing the tag and sponging it with Versamagic chalk in in pumpkin.  The ribbon is Basic Grey.
