My sketch challenge card uses some vintage music pages for the background and an image from Rubbernecker Stamp Co. The background pieces were adhered to the burgandy cardstock using an artists matte opaque gel extender. When dry, masking tape was used to "peel" off some the the print for the distressed look. After that, a wash using Distress Old Paper ink was brushed on and left to dry again. Then, I applied another coat of the gel extender over the top. The burgandy acrylic paint was randomly brushed on and left to dry. A baby wipe was used to remove most of the acrylic paint. I was able to do this because of the opaque gel extender layer. The image was stamped on ivory parchment paper and die cut/embossed with Spellbinders Classic rectangles sm. The Burgandy layer was die cut and embossed with Spellbinders classic rectangles lg. The main image was lightly watercolored with distress inks and sponged using Vintage Photo. A music charm was added and wired ribbon.
