Friday Findings

CIMG6736

No stamping in this post, just some fun finds from the antique mall today.

I need to mention that I love anything vintage (like you didn't know that)

anything RED and anything with a face or hands and also keys. My thoughts behind

the finds are to use them in Assemblage/Collage projects. I also collect vintage

office items, so the reinforcing rings and clock are for my studio. You will see the

other elements on projects soon. Some favorite elements in my finds? The cigarette

the guy is holding on the button card (is that an early version of Boy George?) The kewpie

doll, the ornate design on the keys and the mounting corners with the cool photo corner

guy. The silver clip things next to the alarm clock have a clip on one end and a slide on the

top for a pocket or something. Maybe they were early badge holders???? No clue, just some

fun stuff picked up along the way. I have a special project for the plastic angel and the ideas

are churning for some of the other things. Just wanted to share......

ETA: I just wound the clock and it actually works, alarm and all. Love the old fashioned time

bomb ticking. Guess that's German engineering for Ya, move over Timex. All 3 keys work in the pad lock too.

Gee, not sure I really care but hey it could come in handy if I want to lock something on a project.

  1. I was wondering if the silver clippy things were old unfilterd cigarette holders? Great finds, Shelly!

  3. Ooh, what fun. I would have loved to have gone with you. I used to root through my grandma's boxes/tins to find cute collectible goodies like this. I even loved her button box, because he had old vintage charms and things like bead-like monkeys on pipe cleaners. The things I could find always facinated me. You definitely found some very cool stuff!

  5. Cool stuff! I can definitely see this stuff on some of your projects. I especially love the clock. The red is great and it's making a comeback. I used to carry home the most fun things from antique shops. I can browse in them for hours!
