It's been one of those days...

I'll tell ya, I am posting this and then going to eat a gallon of ice cream or something. This shouldn't have taken me a good share of the afternoon. I should have learned to put the cut out layer that had Glossy Accents applied in a different room. I should have put it in a different county. First, I picked it up and stuck my finger in it. No problem, I added some more. I did put it further from my work station this time. Then, I just wanted to lay it on my card to figure out my layout. That went fine and then I dropped it upside down on the table. Added a 3rd layer and set it aside again. Finished the card and went to check on it and got my sleeve in it. I
started to add layer #4 and realized that 4 layers just won't work out. So, I had to start my layer from scratch. At least I learned from the mistakes on the first one and managed to get my card done.

I used the bouncing brayer technique with a Kalaidacolor blue frost pad. I sponged Cool Caribbean outside of the dark blue center and the edges with Taken with Teal. Riley is on dimensionals and colored with Copic markers. All stamps are by Hanna Stamps! except for the "Hey" which is SU! Classic Alphabet upper & lower.

  1. Ha! Sorry to laugh, but I do that kinda stuff all the time! It makes me feel good to know I'm not the only one! I love this technique...never heard of it! It's fantastic with splashing Riley! Adorable card!

ps-I bet the ice cream makes it all better ;)

  2. Sounds like you've had quite a day Shelly! lol I'm dangerous around Stickles. I think it's dry and of course it's not and well... you know how it goes. Your card is really adorable and that bouncing brayer technique looks really cool.

  3. Oh it's so good to know we all have our stamping adventures...Too funny. The final product is fantastic.....I love the splash that you've created....and I do love this little moose. Joan

  4. I would have been terribly frustrated and my eyes would have been all GLASSY!! LOL

I have been there - but with Stickles! It is no fun at the time, but the stories bring a smile to the rest of us since we can empathize!

Your card is darling! What a perfect look for Riley's splash!

  5. Too funny! I know your predicament all too well! Another country sounds about right!

  6. Oh Shelly!! I could have sworn you were describing one of my previous attempts! Oh how much better I feel knowing that others have days like this! And BTW ... Riley looks as if nothing happened at all, other than sublime FUN!!

    Way to go!!!

  7. Too cute, love the bouncing brayer technique!!

  8. The bouncing brayer technique looks so amazing with your card...perfect fit. Sorry to hear of your misadventures with the glossy accents...good to hear that this stuff happens to others..not just me.

Thanks for stopping & telling me what you think!
