KK Originals Release Day, Blog Candy & More!

Happy Tuesday morning! Today is the day, April 1st, and Rubbernecker Stamp Company releases KK Originals today! KK Originals is a unique and fresh line of stamps by Kathy Kaberline, designed with her own unique twist. Rubbernecker Stamp Company has acquired distribution rights to this diverse line and we are so excited to be working with the images.
It’s also Treasure Hunt Tuesday at Rubbernecker today. You’ll have to follow the clues to find the treasure, and Sherry has the first clue on her blog.

For a chance to win blog candy, just leave me a comment on what your favorite author or book is by Midnight Eastern time April 1st. I will choose a winner from random.org by noon on Wednesday.
I enjoy many different genre's of books and am currently reading a Janet Evonavich one. My favorite of all time has to be Memoirs of a Geisha.

Blog Candy is also being offered by Candy today, stop by her blog for a chance to win as well!

If this is your first visit on a Treasure Hunt Tuesday, you can find all the details on the Rubbernecker Home Page.

I intended to make a card for my bookmark to go on today, but that didn't happen, maybe I will get it done and edit the photo soon. The bookmark uses a KK originals image Sakura 2523-K
I also used Asian Word BG stamp 1873-SO after masking Sakura off. The Geisha was colored with Copic Markers and the face with a white gel pen. The Background was sponged with Tim Holtz Distress inks in Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade & Dried Marigold. I made paper beads by rolling thin strips of designer paper around a toothpick and gluing the end.

  1. Gorgeous bookmark, Shelly! I love the new images and will have to go check them out! Finally got my RN order today!

My fav author would be C. S. Lewis. When I can read both fiction and non-fiction by the same person, then I know they are a favorite!

But I guess my all-time fav book would be East of Eden by John Steinbeck!

  3. Love the bookmark. The stamp is gorgeous. My favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird. As a retired teacher it was always great to watch the students learn about the past through this novel and it`s moral...always do the right thing, was my gift to my students. Thanks for the blog. It is great.

  12. Favorite author!!! How am I supposed to choose. I am a Bronte fan, a Lillian Jackson Braun fan, a ...well the list goes on.

I guess today it would have to be Frank Peretti--though I am not a huge thriller fan. But he has a way of describing things that are not visible so I can see them.

Beautiful card--I just love how your sponging created a highlight around the woman.

  20. Wow, you are too clever...making paper beads to add to this bookmark. What a marvelous idea, it just opens so many opportunities. I love the way you shaded the background of this bookmark too.
I enjoy way too many genres....I like James Patterson, right now I'm reading Ken Follet...Max Lucado...Frank Perreti... or you can give me a picture book any day (as long as the pictures are good - yes I judge books by their cover!!!!!) I will take almost ANY opportunity to read a picture book to my grade 4 class. I'll find a way to connect it to curriculum, if I have to. haha Joan

  21. I have no favorite author and I don't read fiction anymore-so it's whatever bio or history book strikes me. I also love cookbooks (vegetarian only) but If I had to give one book to an adult, it would be Roots by Alex Haley. A true classic .

Thanks for the blog candy chance, but how can I pick just one book??? I loved all of the Harry Potter series, I'm a real fan of Dick Francis, and I have to agree with one of the previous posters that for a just fun read, I'm never disappointed with Janet Evanovich's "By the Numbers" series featuring Stephanie Plum.

  27. Beautiful work:)

My all time favorite book is The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. Very long, but the story is so rich that you can read it over and over and never get bored:)

  28. I love your two Asian cards. I really enjoy cards and art with an oriental flare, but sometimes feel like I am alone with this style. I somehow missed that there were new Asian images in the KK originals section, I'll have to go check it out. If you enjoyed Memoirs of a Geisha, you might like Snowflower and the Secret Fan. It is about young girls growing up in China in the mid 1800's. It is a novel, but I learned so much about the cultural practices. It was fascinating and scary at the same time. Very good story. I have the newest follow up Peony in love waiting to be read.
